Too many tomatoes from the garden. So I made some tomato butter to use instead of mayo. I regret not putting more of it on. But I’ll use the leftover for some pasta dish.

Started making my own unusual tofu I got really inspired by Mary's Test Kitchen on YT. This one is green split pea, it was delicious but I didn't do a good enough job decanting off the milk from the starch. I’m printing some change gears to check the fitment of the gear train on a banjo. I have been fighting with this particular brand of PETG trying to get a clean and accurate print since last week.

In my previous post I explained how I acquired an Ender 3 v1, v2, and v3 over the course of a week after not owning any 3d printers, well, it’s been a couple more weeks and I got a couple more printers. I spent several days trying to troubleshoot the Nebula pad that came on my v3, finally got it unbricked only to have it stick in a sort of boot loop so I gave up, I was going to just buy a screen for $40 but I got a whole nother machine for $70 which is good because I ended up replacing the screen and main board and now I have the rest for parts (the first one has several mods so fixing it rather than using it for parts made sense to me).

I’ve been working on a new ereader case platform and wanted to find a way to print bigger than the max volume, and have it extremely durable is was the result.

I bought some cheapie bean starts from the grocery store this spring, I was complaining that nothing was happening, then the long bean emerged. Now Ive got a crop of hilariously long beans. I tried this one and maybe it wasn’t ready yet as there was a sort of paste in-between the beans pods and nothing was really defined. Edible but not enjoyable.

Started my grind for the golden balls recently, and got a pleasant surprise just ~10 days in.

Just for fun, I made a 1.8× batch of the tartine country loaf, but still made two loaves.

I was digging into topics for the Extra exam questions.

My alarm goes off. And I ache.

I used millers durum wheat flour instead of more course whole grain . Left if overnight in the fridge to prove but didn’t read the recipe correctly so did the shaping after the fridge instead of before haha. Still turned out good! It’s a bit less sour than the last one. I’m very happy :)

Life is crazy right now. I had to rebuild my cell phone today and my wife is craving comfort food with no nutritional value.

I’m trying to get into Georgian food after a very inspiring restaurant visit. This one is pretty basic, but it’s a nice stepping stone to the more interesting dishes. Tastes as you’d expect: Fried bread with salty cheese and butter

Since my wife had to work today I tried to make a nice dinner with no pretense of vegetables. I sous vide the lobster at 140f for 45 minutes (luckily I was given some frozen lobster tails a few weeks ago) and cooked the steak on a hot cast iron pan for about 6-7 minutes each side. We shared the single steak since we had so much lobster to eat.

Grilled on the flattop, burger inside bell pepper with provolone cheese and pulled pork on top. Dope.

Hello netizens of Lemmy, while printing this single wall wing segment i ran into a problem with significant bulging around the middle. This causes the segments to not fit onto the frame or each other. If anyone has ideas on how to fix this, please share. At this point i’m pretty desperate and willing to try just about anything.

First sourdough after a few years. Got out a bit flatter than i wanted but tasted great non the less.

Lampshade printed out of clear PLA in vase mode, to replace the glass shade I stole from a cheap Aliexpress lamp to use as a cover for my 360° camera. The lamp was super-cheap but I didn’t want to throw it away. With the 3D-printed shade, it found a new life as a small table lamp in my office at work.

I like to restyle my dolls from time to time. Today it’s a set of clothes that I bought on Ali 🙂 I really like that jacket has a working zipper.

Pati Jinich really opened my eyes to guacamole's full potential. In the states, a lot of food people have an incredibly rigid idea of what is and is not guac. Pati revealed to me that in Mexico there are no rules with guac. Makes the purists here freaking out look super silly. Guacamole is a mole. And like all moles, there are infinite variations, the only necessary thread being the aguacate.

Plums at the farmers market looked great so we made a tart! Some almond extract and orange zest in the batter complements the plums beautifully.

Back to planning hikes close to home ⛰️I always recommend Val Di Zoldo, it's less crowded compared to other parts of the Dolomites, and it has amazing hikes as well.Whenever I need to step back from the crowded areas, it's always my first choice ❤️

Made a couple round loaves with this batch, but i ran out of parchment paper a few days ago, so I just dropped them on the Dutch oven. Both of them stuck, and after the first 30 minutes, when it came time to take out, this one was stuck TIGHT.
