Everyone complains about shorts or reels format. But reading comments is the short format of reading. And I can attest the the feeling is the same, quick dopamine release and after a session we can’t barely remember most of what was read, just like short video format.

4-panel black-and-white Calvin and Hobbes comic. Panel 1, Susie (out of frame) says "CALVIN, YOU BALONEY BRAIN!". Panel 2, Susie says "YOU SENT ME A HATE-MAIL VALENTINE, AND A CRUMMY BUNCH OF DEAD FLOWERS!". Panel 3, Susie throws a snowball at Calvin (POW!) and says "SO HERE'S A VALENTINE FOR YOU, YOU INSENSITIVE CLOD!!". Panel 4, Susie walks away with thought bubble saying "A VALENTINE AND FLOWERS! HE LIKES ME!" while Calvin lies in the snow thinking "SHE NOTICED! SHE LIKES ME!"

According to Urban Dictionary (among other sources), the phrase insensitive clod - later a popular retort on Slashdot - originated in this Calvin and Hobbes comic published on February 14, 1986.
