Is reddit sunsetting the old(dot)reddit URL?

Hi. Posting this here and will crosspost in other few reddit communities if allowed.

I still lurk in the relevant communities there, and I been seeing thsi error page since yesterday. I tried it on other browser and still display same message.

I didn’t followed the instructions either. All I keep doing is troubleshooting: I reopen my browser and/or reboot my modem. Worked yesterday but today seemed futile. Is anyone else experiencing this too?

Any answer would be appreciated.

I believe they are just running some sort of network detection. I also got this message yesterday, but when I switched servers in my VPN it went away. Sad to see reddit go down this path. But that’s why I’m here.

You’re using a VPN or an IP that reddit doesn’t like. Old website still works.

I just tested it and it works for me. So at least you can cross off the possibility that they killed it.

Its bot/scraping prevention. You have to log in if your IP looks unidentifiable

They’re beyond stupid, painting themselves into a corner, it’ll soon be 100% those PR fuckers shilling brands to bots. I don’t have any accounts for three years now, but this finally made me stop lurking. I got rid of the “alt+d-redd” compulsive spasm, removed the site entirely from history.
