Congress quietly moves to integrate US and Israeli militaries
https://responsiblestatecraft.org/israel-us-military/
The shift will strip away the political and diplomatic oversight mechanisms that make the relationship publicly accountable, moving it from a visible annual aid vote into the opaque machinery of defense acquisition, where oversight is limited and political accountability is minimal. The result would be a defense relationship that is simultaneously deeper and less transparent.
This all comes at a time when the Israeli military has repeatedly used U.S. weapons in strikes that have violated international humanitarian laws in Gaza, and as Israel has repeatedly violated ceasefires (as has the U.S. itself) in the Trump administration’s unnecessary war with Iran.
The enormous gulf between what most Americans want and what the president is doing when it comes to Israel and what Congress is proposing here should not be ignored. Just 30% of respondents to a New York Times/Sienna poll from mid-May believe Trump made “the right decision” to go to war with Iran, with 64% saying it was wrong. An Institute for Global Affairs poll released earlier this week dove even deeper into the American psyche when it comes to arming Israel, finding that “Just 16 percent say the United States should keep supplying Israel with weapons without new restrictions. Thirty-eight percent want to stop supplying weapons entirely, and another 24 percent want weapons conditioned on how they’re used.”
Yet, mainstream leadership in both parties remains largely pro-Israel and continues to shape the base legislative text before amendments and broader congressional debate open it to the full body, as is the case with this NDAA provision.

I wanted to have kids my whole life, even through difficult economic times and wars and pandemics. They want me to have kids, but they’re doing everything possible to make me not want to ever have kids. I don’t want my kids drafted to go fight for Israel. Gonna add that to the cons column.
Yeah I always thought I’d want to have kids in the future but honestly, now I’m grown up, I couldn’t imagine subjecting the little human I would love - presumably the most out of anything in the world - to this hellscape that only ever gets progressively worse
Fuck me.
This is so wrong. Imagine for a moment this moves forward…
How many decades would it take to disjoin?
more likely, ISRAEL will be able to use us soldiers, as cannon fodder instead of thier own forces, which is very unpoplar amongst israelis right now.
I’m totally unrelated news, several months ago the US stated they will start automatic draft registration in December 2026 and earlier this month Israel said they are having an issue conscripting enough people to fight in the military.
https://www.cnn.com/2026/04/09/politics/us-military-draft-registration-2026
Didn’t men age 18 have to manually enroll in selective service anyways? I know I had to.
It will now be automatic with no choice to refuse
Why didn’t anybody tell me I had a choice to refuse :( no matter, I outside the selection range (for now).
You could always refuse. It just carried enough penalties to ruin your life if you did.
Tbf this is mostly just a change in paperwork procedure, it was already required for all males of 18 years to register for the draft. They couldn’t actually use it even if they wanted to, one way or another. Nobody would show up, or vanishingly few fools would.
Good way to breed more antisemitism
Fuck if I care though not my yamulke not my problem
That’s not how this works. We all stand together or we all fall together.
There’s a lot of people who have no faith in their neighbours anymore and have accepted that the war is lost. “We all stand together or we all fall together.” is not the motivating statement you think it is to someone who is just looking for an exit at this point.
It’s not meant to motivate or demotivate it’s a fact of human existence. I don’t care if you have hope (but you must) I care that you fight.
Hope for… what exactly. Be specific. “Hope” is just a meaningless shibboleth unless you define what for. Who are you asking to fight with you and what are you asking them to fight for, because the number of causes worth the effort is rapidly vanishing. Apathy may be one of the seven deadly sins, but there’s been too many rug-pulls now for anyone to have much faith that they’re not being taken advantage of again.
They will come for you and your freedoms eventually whether its your problem today or not. If you are not in their tribe they openly and explicitly consider you not worthy of any human rights.
My theory of the United States Of America being a vassal state of Israel just keeps getting stronger…
It’s weird, even if it came from an antisemite place, that conspiracy theorists would say Jews rule the world. It’s the Israel government, but still seems to be true every day.
I guess we are getting set up for the “good versus evil” part of the world’s development. Everybody’s drawing lines.

When they’re finally tried for war crimes, they can share a cell as well.
For some reason all I see is a picture, not the article. Here’s the link in case anyone else has the same problem:

Well-known and persistent kbin/mbin cross-platform issue. Thanks for posting the link.
So just like the Amerika mini series, but the occupying army is from Israel this time.

They wont need congressional bills to loot the treasury then. It’ll all be free weapons lost in audits.
