Yes, they would. Never had to sleep outside and find food because you pissed off a parent on the wrong day? It was better than getting beaten but really fucks up your sense of food security. I started committing crimes early to get money for food and supplies when I was too young to get a real job and my parents were shocked when I got arrested. What did they expect?

Yeah I never understood when family would try and make me feel bad for being born. Like: it wasn’t my decision!

There is a lot to be said when parents say shit like this. Other variations of this are “I had to deal with you when you were younger to be able to sleep”, or, “I gave everything I could to raise you!!” (Usually this one is after you disappoint them).

I am a parent now (very recently but still), and I can already tell my parents were full of shit when they said stuff like this. Listen up fuckers, if you have kid(s), it is YOUR job to give them the best chances in life by default. You do anything less because you don’t feel like it (and we are not talking about life difficulties and circumstances, which is a whole different thing), it is YOUR fault. Is that simple

Where you live? How much you make? How many hours daily you spend with kid? What is your job? Many variables in this equation yet you jump straight to conclusion.

Leaving on the street is so 1980s… Nowadays it’s enough to threaten them with changing the wifi password, and they’ll clean up after themselves.
