So, I have a number of different versions of the Epyx Fast Load cartridge images, and a hardware TFW8b “Fast Load Reloaded” cartridge. Loading any of these cart files or plugging in the cartridge results in a black screen. Overlay works, but when I close it the screen is black.
I already bought gifts for my C64 because of Saint Nicholas Day, which we celebrate on December 6th in my country.
The shopping list included:
- Retroscaler 2x ~45 $
- S Video/Chinc AV cable ~5,50 $
- Joystick (second-hand but high quality) ~ 20,5 $
- SD2IEC with Ogryzek Cartridge (for fast loading) (second-hand also) ~ 33 $
Hi, I have Commodore 64 computer in my house but I don’t know what can I do with it… Also I need to find a way to connect it to my monitor or buy CRT Monitor.
The interview is with the podcast Floppy Days. Compute’s Gazette was the king of the type-in program magazines, an entire industry that’s gone now. James Nagle swooped in and grabbed the trademark when it expired, and is planning a general retro-computing magazine. He plans on reviving the Gazette, but not Compute itself.
This was in the 1980s video rental store inside the theme park. It was a great nostalgic recreation of a time gone by, and Commodore 64 is rightfully represented!

If you have a vintage joystick that you used to use on your original C64 and would like to game with it on VICE or TheC64Mini, check this out! Not too long ago, I bought myself the D-SUB9 USB joystick adapter, from Retronic Design (based here, in Canada).
This is a nice little C64 game: you carry a grid with a value between 0 and 9. Catch matching numbers that add or substract from your value and never go below 0 or above 9. Understand? No? Just try it…:
